Too Many Antons and Magdalenes...hard to trace.According to the 4/3/1999 post by David MacFarland...Magdalene her husband John Stupfel and her brother Anton came to the US in 1846...Lived around Milwaukee...which is near Appleton area...and then moved to Ashton in 1854...The note about the two children son and daughter that died at the same time is probably true...I found a stone in Ashton Cemetery that is a heart on an iron cross..the inscription is hard to read..but with tracing it says:Magdalene 1851-? and Francisco....Stupfel on the same stone... the other stones are missing..only the iron crosses remain..Probably the date is 1872 for death... Every one of the posts has a different date for Anton....Jean Drehoble says that Anton born 1852 was married to Mary Barbara Pfeffer...but I also have that stone in Ashton....Anton that married Mary Barbara was born in 1824 and died in 97..Barbara was born in 1828 and died in 1909... So you see it is hard to keep these straight.. I copied and took a picture of every Acker stone...still standing..could be some on the ground..but it is full of snow now... There are 4 Antons ranging in birth date from 1825 to 1900...Two Franks 1888 and 1889; Three Georges George B.1873; George 1827, George F 1902...and so on... The Magdalena Acker you think married Peter Mischler and moved to Milwaukee...although possible...(I haven't checked for Mischlers in the cemetery yet) Pat Turner has Jean Acker (Laurent and Susannes son, Antoine's brother) married to Anne Marie acker daughter of George Acker and Barbe Kolb in 1810.They had 7 children. One was Jean b. 1822 who married Madelaine Schaaf in 1854 daughter of Michel Schaaf and Madelaine Acker. This Madelaine Schaaf was born in 1824. He makes no reference to a Catherine Schaaf.
