Re: My Ackerson/Eckerson Line 1669-now
Hi Connie and Gladys,
Actually, Johannes de la Montagne was the son of Jean de la Montagne who arrived in New Amsterdam with his wife, Rachel DeForest in 1637.Jean was a well known physician in N.A.See Riker's History of Haarlem.I would be very interested in finding out more about Eckerson/Montanye and Lozier/Losier.I am a descendant of Johannes and Jean de la Montagne, and of Abraham Losier and Annietje Eckerman.I think Annietje was the d/o David and Angenitje Vanderbeck. My Eckerman line would look like this - although I have little documentation for it:
Thomas Hugesson and Sarah Brout/Bray (Could this be Brice?
Jan Thomaszen + Appolonia Swits
Jan Eckerson + Maria Jans Vanaernam
Thomas J. Eckerson and Maria DesMarest
David and Angenitje Vanderbeck
Annatie Eckerson and Abraham Lozier.
Many generations later a Lozier married a Montanye.
I did not know there was a Montanye/Eckerman connection.Could someone clarify this?
The DesMarest family also shows up with the de la Montagnes.
