Re: James Ackles (Eccles) in New Brunswick
Hi Cheryle and any other Westchester Loyalist researchers.
I am seeking info about FREDERICK WILLIAMS and the unknown father of PETER BAUM/BALLEM.After the Rev War, Frederick & his family settled in Nova Scotia.
Widow Elizabeth Baum arrived very pregnant in PEI in 1783.With her was a son Peter, age unknown. Her deceased husband, unknown BAUM, reportedly was a Loyalist. Her baby, named William Jenkins was born in 1783 at the home of Thomas BEERS or his father Joseph Beers, Lot 50, PEI.Her 2nd husband was Nicholaus HENKELL who became Nicholas Henkell Jenkins in PEI.
Joseph Beers was listed as an Ensign in the Kings Rangers, 1st &/or 5th Battalion and is thought to have arrived in PEI 1782.
Sketchy info on all, possibly connected to the Westchester Loyalists and James Delancey's cowboys.
Has anyone come across these names?
