Hello there - I saw your postings about the Acklams of East Yorkshire, and thought you might be interested in the following:
My blogsite contains a family history piece (Marmaduke Stephenson & Others) mainly concerned with the East Riding. Isabel Acklam, baptised in 1704, was my g-g-g-g-g-grandmother (forgive me if I have one too many 'greats' in there!) She was born in Burton Agnes, married Marmaduke Stephenson, a sheep farmer, and produced the next Marmaduke in a long line of Marmadukes.
My own researches have not got further back than her - yet, but the Acklams are the field I am currently interested in. It's such a lovely name!
