Gideon Acland of Martins Lane, City of London. Merchant
See photo of document, dissolution of partnership, dated 30/08/1808,http://www.familychest.co.uk/FamilyChestDocs/documents/0412012.htm
The indenture begins by reciting that the 2 parties to the contract, together with George Perrott Maccullock and Frances Law traded as Merchants and Grocers in partnership. The partnership was dissolved in 1799 which resulted in Gideon Acland owing £1893/13/7d to the other three. The business of the partnership was carried on after 1799 by the other 3 excluding Gideon Acland and then later by Samuel Johnson alone.
An indenture of 1802 detailed that Gideon Acland was to pay off his debt by installments. This indenture of 1808 records that Gideon Acland has now paid off the final installment and is released from any further obligation.
