RE: Mathias Eichorn/John Acorn/Eleanor Williams
I am seeking correct and documented information about John Acorn's parents. There is much info out there that I do not think is correct.
My husband is a direct descendant of John Acorn. There is a lot of information on the website www.islandregister.com
I think Mathias (or other spelling) born in Germany 1738 is John's father. The ages match better than any other to the legend. If this Mathias died in 1777, John would have been 16, old enough to have joined the Loyalist Army.
Mathias Eichorn was of German ancestry, possibly born in Germany. My guess is that Samuel Waldo recrited a saw miller for the Broad Bay Plantation in Waldoboro, Lincoln, County Maine.John Acorn was a miller in PEI, an occupation that was the same as his father's.
Can any one help me?I have a lot of information on descendants, but Mathias has been elusive.Does anyone know where he is buried? Spouse(s)? etc.
I also have information on John's wife Eleanor Williams ancestry going back to the 1500's in New Amsterdam, NY.
