Hello. Read my other message and then come to this one. There were Acree people at Georgetown in White County Arkansas that John Acrey claimed kin to. They had all been in Georgia at one time according to what his daughter-in-law said. There were once a Acree family here in Lonoke, Arkansas who went on to New Mexico and got in a range war over cattle and sheep as they were grazing sheep.( One of the girls taught school here because I have seen the old photo from way back once upon a time.) Someone from that set called me at least 20 years ago and told me that. I have found these folks can usually do well where ever they may be, but tracing them is almost impossible. Joe Acrey who was John's son was a long waisted tall man with long well developed arms and big hands. He also had a particular gait in his walk. I mention this as that sort of stuff is usually inherited you know. The Arkansas group all seem to have a knack for mechanical stuff and love to "trade" on almost anything. It is such a different name, you would think they would stand out, but they never do.
