Hello. Both of my brother-in-laws had/have vision problems, one more serious than the other. We were always told that it came from their mother's side and was passed to the son. The old time name for what they had/have was called dancing eyes. Never have I heard of a vision problem from or that targeted the men on the male side. I have heard that it was passed from the McCoy family when they left Ireland, maybe or where ever they came from. The McCoy family came in on my mother-in-law's side. Who was the main ancestor way back of Jasper? What county or state was he in? Was this ancestor person on the Georgia/South Carolina line? I am asking questions as it is possible that my brother-in-laws got a double dose of vision problems simply because of inheritance. There is a child doctor in Little Rock, Arkansas who is interested in this as my late brother-in-law has a grandson who has vision problems. The little one tips his head back to focus his eyes. He is quite bright and has a personality much like his late grandfather and just laughs and loves people and tries to tease. The grandfather was examined and interviewed by the baby's doctor shortly before his death. Linda P.S. I am descended from the Prices who left Spartanburg District of South Carolina in the 1830's.
