I have down that Elizabeth Cross's parents were William Cross and Elizabeth Queener, originally from Baltimore Co. Maryland. I have not found primary documentation to confirm this however at this time. This info was given to me by Walt Cross on the Cross FamilyForum. He appears to be a very knowledgable Cross researcher.
I am kind of leaning toward John Acres as possibly being Daniel's father. He and Daniel wwere both in the tax records for Campbell co TN in 1818 and 1823.
In 1818,(Returns of Jno. Anderson, Esqr.)
John Acres was taxed for 5 acres of land, and 1 Free Poll.
Daniel Acres is taxed for 1 Free Poll.
No waterway or other location is listed.
An account of notes belonging to the Estate of MICAJAH CROSS, Deceased, exclusive of those for the amount of sales made by order of court, towit:(7 May 1818)
List of names include....
JOHN AKERSNote # 19 due 20 May 1815$11.25
(if i have it right, this Micajah Cross is Elizabeth's older brother.)
This is the last mention I have found of John Acres/Akers.
Since he had more taxable goods than Daniel in 1818, I believe that he is older than Daniel---possibly Father or older brother.
I don't know if he died or moved elsewhere but so far, I've found no records of John after he appears on the above list of Micajah Cross, deceased. Also on the list, apparently buying livestock from the estate are Jacob and Daniel Queener.
I also am curious about a RHODES ACRES in Pike Co Ky 1870 Census. He was age 12, father was James Acres, age 41. Father of James appears to be the Andrew Acres listed below.
There is also a John Acres in Pike co, KY marriages-- dates 1825-1826, giving permission for dau. Zelphy to marry Caleb Clay, dau. Malindy to marry James Clay and son Andrew to marry Polly Branham.
I do not know if this John could be the John Acres with Danial or not. I'm working on that now---to prove or disprove.
Hope this gives you a few leads to run with.
