The Old Acton Cemetery that I am speaking of is in North Shelby County, Alabama just a few miles from the Jefferson County line. It contains the remains of some of the oldest Acton settlers in the area. Certainly it is likely that some of their descendants/relatives lived in Jefferson County and some likey moved West as did the descendants of other settler families in the area. There is a Census of the Cemetery that I made on Post #519 of this forum.
There is another cemetery related to this family located in Southern Jefferson County only a few miles from the other. It also contains the remains of some of the early Acton family but also many later descendants as well. It is called The Croft - Acton Cemetery and is much larger, has good maintainance, and is still being used. I have copied some information about the Acton family buried there but will have to search it out and post it on a separate post.
I am not a descendant of the Acton Family but I am of several other area settler families. I am especially interested in our area people and their history. I will post the additional information as soon as possible and will be happy to provide you with any other assistance that I can.
