Re: Acton and Brown in Kansas
In am not a member of the Acton family. HOWEVER I have found the family's surname in Buncombe Co, NC on a Road near West Asheville. The folks that came into BUncombe in that area arrived very early late 1700s or early 1800s. Most of them came from VA/MD through SC - Spartanburg area although a few came in through the Mtns of VA and what is today ETN.
Given that, you may want to check the Jamestown area/Surry Co area in VA for their entry and their movements up the coast of VA and then across to BOtetourt/Augusta Co, VA.
Near/In London is an area called Acton. Could be a clue?
Lillian Ford Donnally - my Ford familylanded in Jamestown by 1635 or before and made the trip up the coast of VA to MD and Northern VA, then down to SC and then into WNC, GA, TN, KY, Ohio, IL, MO, AR and AL to TX to AR to OC to MT.
