Hi Jean and Thomas, This is great! Margaret Elizabeth Adair was my 2great grandmother, and yes, she married Alfred Estes Holland and had the following children; Mary Minerva b. 1885 md Ernest W. Trenary Lou (my line)b. 1887 md James Watson Caudill Walter Benjamin b. 1889 md Winnie Jones Deborah b. 1891 d. 1892 Henry Dixon b. 1893 md Alta George Nancy "Nannie" Ruth b. 1896 md William John Loeber Lelah Pearl b. 1898 md Norman Davis Margaret Elizabeth "Sequechie" b.1903 md John G. Dobson James Warren b. 1908 md Delores ?
You aren't going to believe this....Years ago my grandmother, Ruby Caudill Wells, told me I was related to my elementary school principal, Wayne Siffing. Of course I was appalled to think that we were related, and didn't dare ask any more. (You know how silly kids are!) Well, going through old letters from Lou and Ruby, I found one from George Alton Adair, and didn't know the relationship, or why my great grandmother would have had this letter unless he was related to her. I wrote the Siffings, and they told me George Alton had married Florence Siffing. Is that strange or what! Now a few years later, I find in my Nancy Ward workbook, that my Margaret Elizabeth Adair was brother to John Walter Adair, your line! I just love this stuff! I have almost no info on the Powells. Ester Margaret Caudill born 24 Nov 1867, Morehead, Rowan Co, KY married first Wash Powell, second J.M. Crittenden.(Esther was Lou Holland Caudill's sister in law.) Just wondered if you had any info on them. If you would prefer to email me privately....firstname.lastname@example.org I am related to you Jean, through Adairs, and possibly to Thomas through Powells, though distantly. Please keep in touch!
