page 236 note: "George Murray and certain other scholars of the Grammar School of Edinburgh against the magistrates of Edinburgh and Ninian Macmorran."In the main text it starts - "Supplication presented to the King and Lords of Secret Council by George Murray, son of ... etc.and (Alex.) Adair, son of (William) Adair of Kinhilt...etc. It is nocht unknawne to his Majestie and the saidis Lordis how that thay, this lang tyme bigane, have been detenit in warde within the tolbuith of Edinburgh, for the unhappy accident quhilk fell oute in the persone of William Sinclair....etc."
page 711 "William Adair, younger of Kinhilt, for Gilbert Johnnestoun of Wamphra, 500 merks, to enter in ward in the tolbooth of Edinburgh upon 24th January next (1599), in case he ought to do so.
(This is about the same time as this William Adair was noted in a report to the English Government that his family were originally from Adare in Ireland and took the name Adair).
