In "The Register of the Privy Council of Scotland" 2nd series, vol. VII, AD1638-1643, page 322: Court Case, Edinburgh, 22nd Sep. 1642 re a riot in the church of Stonykirk, to which the complainer had been appointed by the General Assembly in reversal of the judgement of the Presbytery of Stranraer. Evidently William and Thomas Adair were of the latter.
Perhaps the lands of "Cardines" mentioned in the previous posting in connection with Robert Adair were the same lands as were mentioned here, i.e.
Thomas Adair of "Cairdyne" and his spouse Jeane nee McDougall (McDowell), together with William Adair in Killaisser.
