Would you please have any further information on Ms. Pilkington. i.e. Would she have any association with the Molyneaux (however spelt) of the Lord Dillon family of Castle Dillon near the Adair family in counties Westmeath and Longford ?
Would the Letitia Pilkington associated with Oliver Goldsmith be from another era ?
Wonder if the Ens. James Adair who married Ann Malloise on the IGI (however spelt, perhaps may be Molyneaux) may have been Robin and Mrs. Mallyneaux nee Pilkington ?
I cannot reconcile the fact that Sir William Playfair in his book printed 1811 on the Baronetage of Ireland (vol. 9) (believe the King requested that he compile it) noted that Robin was Foster Adair,as Foster Adair married Anne Ribton 9th Oct 1748 and his will was dated April 10th 1783.
I cannot see that Robin would have been Foster's brother John Adair, although apparently John never married, as his will was proved 10th December 1760 and Robin Adair died 1790.
As Sir William Playfair moved in the same society circles as Robin Adair's son, Sir Robert Adair at the same time as his book was printed, I do, however, think that Sir Robert Adair's father may have been from this family.
Therefore, I can only summize at this time that there was another brother in this family, perhaps by the name of James or Robert.
Any further information from the article on Letitia Pilkington in the British Dictionary of National Biography would be appreciated.
