According to the History of Washington Co., NY, three Reids arrived in this country in Jun 1739. These were:
Duncan Reid and Mary Semple, his wife and children Alexander, Nichols, Angus and Jennie.
John Reid and Margaret Hyman, his wife and his son, Donald.
Roger Reid (no mention of wife and children arriving with him.
The History of Washington Co., NY further describes Petition 1763.
In this Petition which deals with the Argyle Patent the following is given for each of these.
Duncan Reid, living, brought over his wife and eight children; all dead, 500 acres.
John Reid, living, and wife and five children; three boys, one girl, the daughter married, 350 acres.
Roger Reid, married, lives in Highlands and has three children, 200 acres.
Further the Argyle Patent lists these three men and the acreage granted which corresponds with that listed in the History of Washington Co., NY.
