7 Mar 1835 James Adair Snr (signed by mark "A") signed POA for his pension payments. (If they had a seal, then often they just signed with a mark).
26 Jun 1835 Died at his residence in Chesterville, on Friday morning on 26th June after a protracted & painful illness, James Adare Sr, in his 85th year of age.
Mr Adare was a native of Pennsylvania, and imigrated to South Carolina just before the commencement of the American Revolution.
He took an active part in the struggles & carried honorable scars received in service of his country.

Purity Presbyterian Church is now located in Chester S.C. and was removed to the town from a location out in the country a few miles away, and possibly on the Fishing Creek Road.
In the DAR files in Columbia are tombstone inscriptions from the Old Purity Church burying ground and for the old Fishing Creek Presbyterian Church yard.

They came to S.C. and landed at Charleston, S.C. 22-27 Dec 1767 and brought with them their children, except the last daughter who was born in S.C..
They took lands and settled at Chester County S.C. at Bull Run, near old Purity Church or rather below old Purity.
