Purity Presbyterian Church is now located in Chester S.C. and was removed to the town from a location out in the country a few miles away, and possibly on the Fishing Creek Road.
In the DAR files in Columbia are tombstone inscriptions from the Old Purity Church burying ground and for the old Fishing Creek Presbyterian Church yard. ................................. Hugh Ross evidently died intestate (without will) and his estate administration is among the ones when Chester County was included as a part of Camden District. Margaret ADARE ?) and William White (spouse of half-sister Jane Brown).

Margaret Adare ?) and William White (spouse of half-sister Jane Brown).

G 247 04/15/1800 3 100 Hugh Ross and William Ross to Abraham Ross 100 a. part of 400 a. land grant to Hugh Ross, snr, now dec'd and intestate, conveyed to Francis Ross their brother who died intestate and whose heirs are Hugh, William and Abraham. Witnesses William White and John Douglas.
[ The cemetery for these and some other Ross family is Old Purity Presbyterian Cemetery located 3 miles east of Chester at the old site of the original Purity Presbyterian Churches.
Both Francis Ross and his half brother James Brown died as young men and were buried next to each other. The burial place of Hugh Ross their father and step-father is not known although his wife Elizabeth Wherry Brown Ross who survived him is buried next to these two of her sons. )
