re: " Picture of the Court House in Batimore 1784. The article speaks of the 1768 act which was passed "for erecting a court-house and prison for Baltimore Co and in the Town of Baltimore and for making the sale of the old Court House and prison."
Robert ADAIR with Messrs. JB Borley, John Ridgely, John Moale, Robert Alexander, William Smith and Andrew BUCHANAN who were appointed commissioner to build the Prison and Court House which the act directed should be constructed on the upper part of Calvert Street, next to Jones Falls."
Robert Adair was the sheriff of Baltimore. He may also have been a tailor when a customer was struck and killed by lightening whilst having a fitting.
Robert Alexander may have been Robert Adair's bro-in-law and also executor of his will.
Would anyone have been "Maryland Historical Magazine", vol. 35, page 257 ?First Presbyterian Church Membership. The index lists : Adair, Buchanan,p.257 Adair, Christie,p.257
Would Buchanan Adair have been relative of above Andrew Buchanan and Robert Adair ?Thankyou.
