Barbara,Sorry, I seem to have previously worked out this Adair family, i.e. In the 1907 Belfast / Ulster Street Directory, COMBER, there was still a John Adair, J.P. of Ballygraffin. (I usually don't look after about c.1850 in my hobby of genealogy).
In the PRONI freeholders c.1814-1830 there were Adairs Ballygraffin in T/761/19, D/654/A3/IN and D/654/A3/IS.
In D/654/A3/1/S there were John Smylie and Hugh Stitt, both who lived at Ballygraffin in 1824, perhaps also related to the Adair families ?Hugh Stitt had a lease for the "life of / or other tenure of Robert Stewart Cleland.
The surnames of Smylie and Cleland were in Bob Adair'sPatrick Adair of Ballynahinch lineage, but he is probably too busy fishing these days.
