"The Miller Family" by Ferne (Leonard) Kleine ; copies supplied by Earle Koeble; listed as son of Mordecai and Isabel (Adair) Miller; probably originally "Mordecai Adair Miller".
Ed, some further information (needs checking) : Pension application of Mordeca Miller (affidavit). He served in the Revolutionary War in S.C. during which time (c.1780?) he married Isabel Adair (sister of *Robert Sidney Adair snr). - Was she born in America c.1760 ?
Mordecai Miller (bc.1760 ?) stated that his Company lost 22 men by death or capture, among the latter there being :
George Stringer(his uncle - Miss Miller m. Stringer ?) *Robert Adair (uncle by marriage) m. Eliz. Posey Hezekiah Posey (uncle by marriage) bro of Eliz Adair-Posey Barnett Coyat (his uncle by marriage)
Somehow the dates seem a little odd as Miller may have been bc.1750-60 to be in the war and mc. 1780, and his wife, a niece of Robert Adair would have been bc.1760 which would put the date of birth of Robert Adair snr about c.1740 ?
Also with Hezekiah and Elizabeth Posey at "Abbeyville / 96" were their brothers, Richard and John Posey.
Did Robert Sidney Adair, or any of the Posey brothers, marry in the "Abbeyville / 96 District " or elsewhere ?
