re: "Report of the Deputy Keeper of the Records" 1946 Adair, Danl., Dav. and Donald. (1675-8) They may be in the "Rowan Account Book" (P.R.O.N.I.)
Rev. Andrew Rowan’s 2nd wife was Alice (or Gilly) Dunlop (dau of Boyd Dunlop perhaps related to the James Adair of Belfast lineage ?). Rev. Andrew Rowan died in 1717 (at Dunaghy, co Antrim ?) His will proved in Connor Diocese Registrar.
His account book c1672-1680 is described by Dr. Chart in Irish Historical Studies. Is the “Rowan account book” also in “Report of the Deputy Keeper of the Records (1946), (pub. H.M.S.O, now at The Stationery Office Shop, (T.S.O.) 16 Arthur St, Belfast ?) p.14, showing Adair, Danl., Dav. and Donald, ibid, 1675-8.
I wonder where these Adairs resided in 1675-8 and who were their parents ? .............................
Perhaps David, Daniel & Donal Adair may be in : FHL film 1696658 Item 4. Account book of the Rev. Andrew Brown, rector of Dunaghy, co Antrim, c.1672-1680. (May also be in Ulster Journal of Archaeology, 3rd series v.5 (1942) p.65-76 if anyone has access to JSTOR.) refer author, David Alfred Chart. ............................. This Rowan family may have had descendants at Mt Davys, near Cullybackey, refer Houston of Cullybacky, relative of Adairs.
