Hello Peter, I am also researching the Adams surname which was changed from the original Polish surname which we don't know. I am in search of Alexander Adams(?)for my husband's cousin, Ron Adams. Alexander was his father and his mother's maiden name was Wiktor/Victor. She was 1st married a Hilchen who died around 1944. She married Alexander in 1946, Ron was born in 1947 and they divorced a few years later. Alexander was born about 1907 & died around 1955. This man seems to have never existed - I am at that brick wall.
But if you give me Stanley's birth date, his wife's given & surname and any children you may know of I will see what I can find for you.
Did Alice Adams ever email you?
You might want to check out this site: http://www.pgsa.org/directory.htmhttp://www.pgsa.org/directory.htm It is the Polish Genealogy Society of America in Chicago which has been very useful to me. I have found obits and marriages records of many members of my husbands family lines. We became members of the Society because if you order a copy of a record the cost is less for Society members. This is not a plug for the Society just some good advise to save you money if you ever need to order any copies. The cost for a years membership is very reasonable! I have saved more than the membership cost. Let me know if I can help. You may email me direct. Peggy
