The story I was told when growing up - regarding our branch of the Adame family tree goes as follows. My great-great-grandfather - Manuel Adame (born with the surname Rube)was adopted after his father died - by an Adame who arrived in Mexico from Spain. The name of this adoptive father isn't known.
My great-great grandfather married his first wife and they had four boys before she died.I don't know her name but the names of their sons were Jose, Antonio, Epitacio and Plutarco. After the death of his first wife, he married Elodia Briones and they had several more children - daughters: Esther, Raquel, and Rosalina; and sons: Eziquiel (Kelly) and Ines.I think they were all from Coahuila/Durango.
We were told that they all came to the US in 1915 or 1916 - when the youngest was about 6 months old.Jose Adame returned to fight in a war - and remained in Mexico. We don't know anything else about him.Of the other children, only Plutarco had children of his own. Also, only he and Esther ever married - the other children - for one reason or another, never married.
When they came to the US - the lived in Texas for a long time before moving to Colorado.
