I concluded after my reply was sent to you that we were researching different James Adams, Sr.'s.My Sr. was born 1730 Goochland Co. VA and died Mar. 15, 1789 Fluvanna Co. VA.He was the son of Robert Adams b. 1679 Goochland Co. VA d. June 17, 1740 Fredricksville, Goochland Co. VA and Mourning Lewis b. 1694 Henrico Co. VA d. Aug. 8, 1765 Albemarle Co. VA. James, Sr. was Justice of Peace 1771-1773 Albemarle Co. VA and served in the VA Militia as a soldier in John Smith's Company of Regulars.He participated in the Cherokee Expedition of 1760 until the campaign ended.His wife, Cecily (Ford) Adams, (married 1751) may have been a member of the French Huguenot settlement there in VA.She is mentioned in the Vestry Book at the church there.Her parents were: Thomas Ford b.
