I have not seen any evidence of the Robert Adams which sold property (land records) in Goochland Va. circa 1706 being from Wales. This attribute is drawn from the forlorn hope that the "Robert Addams" that came to the James Town colony and was listed in the muster of 1623 as having come over on the Bona Nova is the grand father of Robert of Goochland Co. The Bona Nova R.Adams died 1628. I have not seen the record but he is said to have had a son William born 1626. From there the leap is to Robert of Goochland. A book on the Goolsby/Adams family has this and seems to be the main culprit in continuing this tale. A better solution as to where we came from (I hale from this line too) is an attribute/side note in a difficult to find book on the Johnston(e)and Moorman Families. Mary and Elizabeth Adams Daughters of this first Robert married Moorman brothers Achilles and ?. This book then goes onto describe Robert and his father being William. William and his brother John were from Inverrurie Scotland.Monymusk Church. It is the Detail that convince's me at least until I can find other evidence. In 1670 (aprox) A William Adams comes to America as a covenanter (deportee) from Scotland. The Lynch,Terrell, Ward, Moorman and other families were "friends" or Quakers. Hence the lack of records. Robert first shows in Goochland selling large tracts of land, before moving to Campbell Co. the money came from somewhere to buy the land in Goochland Co.and if William Adams was the son of the First Robert of 1623 then more records of the land acquisitions would be available having taken 70 years to acumulate. I believe a number of the Lewis's were Quakers also. One last parting shot, I have not seen any source on Mourning/Mary being a Lewis. Hope this helps. I wrote this without my notes so if you have any questions fire away, I'll attempt to respond with my research next time.
