Hello Jim, thanks for the answer. We have all the same names in our ADAMSES, except for Mattie. Know that doesn't really mean anything tho. I do know that my ADAMS came into S C, they either went to VA or possibly N C then VA, as John was b 1802 VA, family lore says they were in KY when John took off to trade with the Indians. My cousin's side says he was "kinda wild", and that he came back in five years and the family had left and he searched for them until he died and never found them again.I know that he was in TN 1832 because my ancestor, Anderson was born 1832 TN. They were then in KY about 1839 or just before the 1840 census. Either way it doesn't seem to matter, because I cannot seem to find him in either state.First time I find them is 1850 Saline CO, Curran District, IL. , then 1860 White Co, Phillipstown PO, IL. John died just before the 1860, as per son, Stephen's pension from CW,John's wife, Ailsey died just after 1860, also per pension report. (Stephen died 1865, and three sisters were trying to gain money etc) I have no maiden name of Ailsey b GA 1813 (John's wife), or anything of value except for the family lore we have from two of the elders of each family, they are all gone now,we have one picture circa 1860 or so. We believe it to be other elder son Thomas and wife who md 1861 White Co IL, my ancestor Anderson was md three times, 2 children from 1st wife Lutecia "Letty", b 1834 TN, and the rest from last wife Nancy, sister of Thomas's wife Lavina, both girls are born KY. Again, I have gone on and on, but hopefully someone may read this sooner or later, and it will ring a bell. Thank you again.
