No, I don't have the book you're talking about. That information came from Aunt Margie and she had gotten it from some other relative, I believe.
I have found a connection to the Adams presidents on my dad's side of the family. My 8xgreat-grandparents were 2nd President John Adams' 3xgreat-grandparents.Through those same great-grandparents, there is also a connection to Princess Diana. She, as it turns out, was my 9th cousin once removed.Even though she and I were born the same year, her family managed to sneak another generation in there somewhere. Also branched off from that family I've found a connection to Ralph Waldo Emerson. It's really been fascinating!
Just as fascinating has been finding out that my 3xgreat-grandparents, on Grandpa Korb's side, lived right here in the Troutdale area, where I live!Grandma Bates, that I didn't even know about before, is actually buried only a couple of miles from my home!In Corbett, Oregon, which at the time was named Taylor, Oregon.
I only logged on to Genealogy.Com in November for the first time. The Axtell connections were a goldmine I never expected to find.Yes, very exciting! And the Adams connection on the other side of the family was the very first find I made...actually only about 15 minutes after logging on for the first time!I had looked up on the famous people section under John Quincy Adams. It gave his ancestors, not his descendants, but in looking through it, I started recognizing names!Very cool!
Anyway, I've been soooo busy at work that I finally had to put the research aside and get some work done.It gets very engrossing, and I don't know about you, but I'm always afraid to put it down for too long because it can also be very confusing and easy to forget my place.Plus, I put a lot of lines in the water, so to speak, so I was getting responses back from all different branches of the family at a time -- gets really confusing if you're not right up on it! Yes, we absolutely must share notes sometime!
P.S. I assume Aunt Margie sent you copies of what I sent her?
