James Adams was born in GA in 1816.Bythe 1830 census he was married to the former Martha Leath and living in Cherokee Co. AL.The Leaths had come into AL from TN and I do not see their migration as a clue for James' Adams parentage.
John and Martha named one of their (but not the eldest) sons Joe Louis (or Lewis?).One of their daughters named her first son James Lewis.I am wondering if this name is a clue to James Adams family connection.
I would appreciate it if any Georgia Adams researchers would check their families for a clue to James Adams parentage.
James and Martha's other children are Nancy Emmaline, Mary Frances (I think the name Frances comes from the Leath family), Sarah Jane, Martha Anne, John W., James, Thomas M. and Thompson George.Do any of these names provide clues to James' parents and siblings?
