I am searching for a possible marriage of Washington Bradley (W. B.) Halford and ? Childress or Adams between 1840 and 1845. His daughter, Sarah D. Halford, b. ca 1845 in AL, was living with Martha Childress, presumable her grandmother, in the 1850 and 1860 Leake Co MS censuses, following his marriage to Mary M. Hutchins in October 1849.(I assume for some reason Sarah D. was presumed to be better off living with the grandmother than with W. B. and his new wife - strictly a presumption, though). My ggrandfather, S. J. Cloud, married one of W. B.'s and Mary M. Hutchins' daughters, E. L. Halford.
The problem:After E. L. Halford died, my ggrandfather, S. J. Cloud, married a Sarah Drunetta, reported to have been E. L. Halford's "sister".The marriage was reported in Madison Co, MS, and between S. J. Cloud and Miss S. D. Adams. Can anyone identify a marriage between an S. D. (Sarah Drunetta) Halford and a male Adams, or between a Washington Bradley Halford and a female Adams between 1840-1845 which might have produced Sarah Drunetta.Convoluted problem to explain, but I have been unable to trace S. D. Halford Adams.
