ADAMS in Lavaca Co, TX in 1880
Looking for descendants of Roy Adams, son of William G. Adams (b. abt 1856) and Nannie Fenner.William G. was born about 1856 and Nannie Fenner was born about 1860.The older son, Guy T. was born in 1875, died in 1905, and appears with his parents in the 1880 census for Lavaca Co., TX.Son Roy was born sometime after the 1880 census.
It has been said that William G. and Nannie later lived around Artesia Wells, south of San Antonio, TX and that their son Roy had a son who lived around Pleasanton, Atascosa Co.(?), Tx.
I am trying to locate some family members who might know the identities of 4 Adamses buried in Providence Cemetery in Lavaca Co., TX.There are no markers, only an old record which lists the Adams surname 4 times. Some of the other families associated with William G. and Nannie are buried at Providence Cemetery so it is felt these unknown Adamses might be related, possibly infants, and most of these known burials occured in the late 1880s to 1900.Most of the Adams and related families are buried at Mossy Grove Cemetery in Lavaca Co.
The Providence Cemetery Association is trying to identify as many burials as possible and place small markers on the graves. The Adams burials are some of the few remaining to be identified.
