I'm looking for information on where in England this family might have come from. The only information I have is that in 1881, according to the 1881 Canadian Census, the family lived in Toronto ... what was then York, Ontario.
Father's name:Thomas Adams, b. circa 1816 [England] - Occupation in Canada:gardener Mother's name:Hannah ?b. circa 1826 [England]
Children: Thomas ADAMS b. cirac 1853 [England] occupation in Canada: Butcher Fanny ADAMSb. circa 1860 [England] occupation in Canada:Servant Edith ADAMSb. circa 1863 [Ontario, Canada] Mary ADAMSb. circa 1866 [Ontario, Canada]
Edith Adams was my great-grandmother.Since she was the first of the children to be born in Canada, I suspect that the family immigrated sometime between the birth if Fanny and the birth of Edith .
Do any of the names in this family ring a bell with anyone out there?
