I am looking for siblings and parents of my g g grandfather, a doctor and druggist that moved to Salado TX in 1871. He previously lived and practiced medicine around Marlin TX. His name was David Gregg Adams. b 1827 in Missourri d 1907 Temple TX. He married Iola Capps in Marlin TX in 1862. He had 7 children: Margaret, Jackson Carroll (my g grandfather), Ruth Ella, 3 that died before 1880), and Hattie L. Our records indicate that his father was born in Va and his mother was born in Tenn. His home (the Armstrong-Adams House) in Salado is registered by the Texas Historical Commission and the National Register of Historic Places. He mustered troops in the Salado area with his own money and took them to fight in the Battle of Galveston during the Civil War. In the 1830 Census in St Louis, Mo (which is where he was born) there is a married couple William L Adams (Va) and a L. A. Adams (Tenn), but I haven't been able to find them in Texas. Supposedly, David Gregg moved from Mo. at an early age. I have had all the regular problems: court records destroyed by fire in Marlin, no one claimed his CW pension, etc. If anyone can help, help!
