Charles, I stand corrected. Absalom was indeed High Sheriff of Harrison Co. I recognized the name Absolam Adams when I saw the deed for the church property, which is across the river from Berry, KY. I mistakenly associated Absalom with the marriage records instead of all the other court records where I had seen his name. This is what happens when you try to do genealogy and move at the same time and don't have ALL your records at hand. I am sorry for misleading anyone.
I am not related to this line. My initial interest in the line was William Collier, son-in-law of John Adams, who shares the same name as my gggg-gf and ggg-gf's. There was another Absolam Adams who married Mary Holmes c1804 on 8 Sep 1824 in Harrison Co. Mary was a grand-daughter of my ggggg-gf Philip Wiggins. An Absalom (b1799)and Mary (b1804)Adams appear in 1850 Bourbon Co., KY Census. He is a physician, but Mary lists her state of birth as Virginia instead of Kentucky as would Mary Holmes Adams.
