I'm reposting this, because of the change in my email address.
I am very interested to know the names of the five sons of James and Mary Adams, immigrants from County Armagh. My ancestors, the McCunes (Mckeon), Hollidays and Glasbys made an identical journey, from Delaware, to Pennsylvania, to Kentucky to St. Louis. My grgrgreatgrandfather, A. H. Glasby, born 1808, married a daughter of one of the Adams. Her name was Nancy. Her sister, Frances, married Gerard Allen, owner of the St. Louis foundry. Glasby's sister married William S. McCune, owner of the Keokuk Steamship Lines, and his daughter married Samuel N. Holliday, a prominent Banker in St. Louis. In one of her letters, dated 1850, A. H.'s neice makes mention of the fact that Nancy Adams Glasby was descended from James Adams of County Armagh, but, unfortunately, never stated how she was descended from him.
As these were very prominent and wealthy people, the Glasby, Holliday and McCune familes have been easy to research. However, the Adams family has been difficult simply because of the great number of persons with that name.
I would appreciate any information you may be willing to share about the Adams.
