Hello, I am looking for information on a man named Adams who emigrated from Scotland in the late 1800s and became a farmer in rural upstate New York (Washington County, I'm pretty sure). I believe his wife was also from Scotland, but I don't even know her last name. Their daughter, my great-grandmother Barbara Adams, was born around 1912. I know this is all kind of vague, but that is really all I know about them. After my great-grandmother married a man they didn't approve of in the early 1930s, they never spoke again, and she never spoke of them. I don't know if they continued to live in Washington County, or even when they died. The only other two things I know about them is that they were Presbyterians and that somebody who they were related to fought in a New York regiment in the Civil War.
