Loren:I am intruding, but you seem to have so much info on the Adams family, I hope you can solve my mystery. (By the way, I live in GA. and we know up close and personal about the burned records. You see, there was that "unpleasantness" about 1861-65, and that fine gentleman Gen. Sherman camethru and burned everything in sight, including some courthouses.Of course, we have to also be honest and acknowledge that courthouses burned other than during those years.I've been told that occasionally someone might be having a feud over land, or having a dispute in court of some nature, and a mysterious fire could happen in the courthouse just happen to destroy some pertinent papers.)
I am hoping somewhere in your info you would have my Henry Adams, married Leodica (spelled various ways)_____(unknown); died c. 1832-35, guardianship of children in Warren Cty, GA Oct. 14, 1836; letters of Admns. Thomas Gibson, Security (wife) Laadisa, John Adams, and Sarah.
I think Henry was born in SC; I have not been able to find a marriage license in any of the surrounding counties to Warren Co.I think Henry and Leodicea were in Columbia Co. and after his death, the family moved to middle GA. (Upson, Pike counties). On the 1850 census Benjamin Adams and family live next to Leodicea and the younger members of the family, William, Moses, Celia, and James.
If any of this is in your info, I would be thrilled to find Henry's parents.
