I have searched all the Adams' genealogy info relating to Henry Adams, in hopes of finding my Henry Adams.
All the info seems to relate to other families; even the Adams in GA. are from the North part of the state.
My Henry Adams was in Columbia andWarren Co. GA, where he died intestate in 1836.His wife, Leodecia, applied for a widow's portion, and his minor children were appointed guardians, according to Minutes of the Inferior Court in Warren Co. (1836-38) etc.Sometime after, the family (Leodecia, Moses, William,Benjamin, Celia, John, etc) moved into the middle of the state (Upson and Pike Counties). Moses Adams was killed in the CSA in 1862; Leodecia transferred her property to James (the youngest, I believe).Among the families, Benjamin had a son named Moses, and most of them moved into Cherokee County around the middle of 1870's-1880.
All of these names are similar to other Adams in this area, where David Adams (Rev.War soldier) lived in Putnam County. There were two Benjamin Adams around this time, as well as some Williams and Johns and James and Celia.
I cannot find any info on Leodecia/Henry Adams marriage, etc.I am guessing that they came to GA from SC, but have not been successful in finding them.
If perhaps you have run across this name (Leodecia) I thought it would stand out.I know there was a Henry Adams who married Rebecca Sander around this time, but that is not my Henry.
