My 4th Great Grandmother was Eliza Frances Adams (m. James Starr Rhodes. In hopes that you may read this even though it has been several years since your original post I have posted a follow-up question for you.
I have been trying to trace, with documentation (if available), the genealogy of Eliza Frances Adams.Her path as I have been told from my family is follows:
Eliza Frances Adams (1818-1905) <= Jesse Adams (1789-1844) <= Edmund Adams (1768-1799; m. Elizabeth Cooksey) <=Isaac Sr. Adams (~1740-1781; m. Elizabeth Elzey).
I have found this information from browsing on the internet but would wonder if there was any family books or historical records that describe who these people are as well as substantiates there relationship to me.As you would probably agree some family trees are more believable than others.I'm especially interested substantiating who her father's father, etc was.I've read that it is Jesse=>Isaac Sr.=Edward.The problem that I see with connecting Isaac Sr. with Edward is the dates given for them (Edward b. 1668-England, Isaac b.~1740).It would mean that Edward was ~72 years old when his son was born ... not impossible but unlikely).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Please, if anyone else who reads this can provide information please email me or reply to this forum (I will check it often)
I am also trying to determine any connection to the presidential Adams as well as Samuel Adams.Eliza Frances Adams (Rhodes)'s granddaughter, told my mother back in the 1950's that one relative had traced our family back to John Quincy.I have not been able to make that connection.
Thanks again, so much, to anyone who may assist me!
