Ruth M. Mawson, 85, of Saint Elizabeth Way and formerly of Sunny Cove Drive, Warwick, RI, died Friday, May 14, 2010 at The Seasons. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert C. Mawson.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late John D. and Annie J. (MacKenzie) Adams, she had lived in Warwick for fifty years before moving to East Greenwich in December of 2005. She worked for many years as a teller for Rhode Island Hospital Trust Bank.
She was a longtime member of Faith Presbyterian Church, Cranston where she was one of the organizers of the food pantry and was an aide in the nursery school. For many years she was an election poll warden in Warwick.
She is survived by two sons, David R. Mawson and his wife Jeanne Mahan of Worcester, MA, and Donald A. Mawson and his husband William J. Lottero of Boston, MA; two grandchildren, Alexander D. and Johanna C. Mawson and two sisters, A. Florence Harrison of Warwick and Jean M. Campbell of Providence. She was the sister of the late Mildred A. and James C. Adams.
Funeral service at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick, RI, Tuesday May 18 at 10:00 AM. Calling hours Tuesday from 9–10.
