Isaac enlisted 10 FEB 1864 @ Anderson, Madison Co., IN.He was mustered into the 130th Indiana Infantry Regiment, Co., B. @ Kokomo, IN on 20 MAR 1864.I doubt he saw much battle as he seems to have been hospitalized from June to November probably with a camp disease. His service record does say "sick," not wounded.
He was 6'0" tall, had "dark" hair, "dark" complexion, and blue eyes. This describes my dad exactly.Isaac was 32 years old when he enlisted. This would make his birth year 1832 which is within tolerance, and he was from Adams Township which is adjacent to Fall Creek Township.Mary Jane's people were from Adams Twp., so it's possible he moved his family back to his in-laws before going off to war: not knowing when or if he'd be back.
He was mustered out 02 DEC 1865 @ Charlotte, NC.He had 120 dollars bounty money plus back pay to June of '65, a Springfield Rifle and "accoutrements."It seems he had to pay his own way back as there is no mention of travel expenses. This is almost certainly our Isaac.I had to weed through several Isaac Adamses to find him.The Indiana Digital Archives gives the age and home of each man, so it was simple to cut out our Isaac. My dad had the bluest eyes that always sparkled with mischief. If you would like to put flowers on his and/or Isaac's internet memorial contact me by e-mail and I will send you the links.
