Notes from Mrs. W.J. Sandlin, 1957
She states that both sets of her grandparents, her parents, and all of her Dad's family are deceased.Her grandfather was Rufus Petty Aday, who resided in Morgan County, Alabama, and who married a Jane Russell who had been married and whose maiden name may have been Drake.Her father was James Rufus Aday, who had two brothers, John and Minor L. Aday, three sisters, Sue, Betty, and Pichota Aday, and one half-sister, Maggie Russell.James died 28 years ago, which would make it about 1929..He married Willie Mae McMillan of Moulton, Alabama, and she died on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1945.Mrs. Sandlin was born Mildred Irene Aday, Dec. 4, 1905.She and her husband W. J. Sandlin have one son, Truman, graduating from the Decatur, Alabama, Hight School in 1958.Mr. Sandlin in 1957 had been with the Hill Chain Stores for 22 years.
Mildred (Aday) Sandlin in 1957 had four brothers deceased and two sisters living - Mrs. L. R. Yarbrough also of Decatur, Alabama, and Mrs. James Smith, Jr., of Birmingham, Alabama.
Mildred writes that she has three first cousins in Decatur - John, Harold, and Eugene Aday, sons of Minor L. Aday, her father's brother.In Memphis, Tennessee, she has another first cousin, John Aday, Jr., son of her father's brother John.
She believes her great-grandfather may be a John Aday who lived in Lawrence County, near Moulton, Alabama.She has distant cousins in Hillsboro Alabama.
At Chardy Cemetery in Courtland, Ala., are found the names Charlie Aday and Mrs. Nancy Ann Aday.
She has another first cousin L. M. Aday who flies with Eastern Airlines out of Miami, his siter Gertrude Aday lives in Hopkinsville, Ky.

No womna's name shown with Booz Aday.
John F. Aday married twice, (1) Mary Woodward 4 Sept. 1835 (2) Millie Holems 30 Oct. 1840
In Maple Hill Cemetery, Huntsville, Ala. there are markers for Jephathal Aday and Horatio Aday.
Mrs. Sandlin believes her great-gf John Aday had a brother Booz Aday.
