Hi Mark, I saw the paragraph, below the line, on a web site, and would like to discuss it.
My ggg-grandfather was John Adcock, m. to Lydia Lowe. He fought in the War of 1812. Harold O'Kelley, in his book "Four Families Through Georgia", as a "studied guess" (his words), said that my John was the son of Edmund Adcock who died in Lincoln Co. GA. Most researchers have accepted that, as have I. Lately I have revisited the issue and believe that Edmund's John perhaps was a John E. who was named as administrator of Edmund's estate and married a Malcolm girl. There is much on the 'net about my John's widow trying to get his Army pension and nowhere have I found the middle initial in the documents.
Sorry to be so long-winded but do you have and information on John and Lydia Lowe who lived in Putnam and Hancock counties in GA? Their son John Skinner, one of 8 children, is my direct.
Thanks for taking time to read and reply to this. I am happy to share any other information on my mother's Adcock family. My email address is jharriswATnetzero.com. Please replace he "AT" with the "@" symbol.
