Carolyn:Re:David Adcock - Granville County married Wooten. All the Adcocks in Granville County, N.C. are related. You don't give me any time frame, but there are at least three Davids in Granville Co. in the early 1800's. I don't have all my hx. with me today, but from memory: "old" John of Granville who died in Granville Co. in 1780 had the following children: Leonard, John, Bollin,Edward, Josebed, Sarah, Elizabeth, and Robert.Robert died early on and left two children-one son named Solomon or (John Solomon). Leonard died in Granville in 1798 and had 2 sons and 5 daughters - sons Leonard and Linson.Leonard (2nd)was in Rev. War and moved out of Granville Co.Linson moved out much later. John, son of John, had at least three sons - John, Jr., Andrew, Barnett and many daughters (possibly Anderson Adcock was also son of John).Bollin Adcock died in Granville and had 3 sons and 2 daughters. Bollin's 3 sons were Jesse (died in Granville), Henderson, James. Bollin's son "Petey" or William was most likely his grandson. This Wm. was born about 1793, as he was 8 years old in a court case in 1801.Edward Adcock married Tabitha White in 1780 and Edward died in Granville in 1799.He and Tabitha had 11 known children as named in the settlement of his will in the 1840's (yes, almost 50 years after he died):William, Abner, George, Stephen, Jonathan, Nancy, Frederick, Betsy (Elizabeth), Mary, David, and Sally.William stayed (and died) in Granville Co. - he was my great great grandfather).Jonathan and Stephen moved to Dickson County, Tennessee.David had moved out of town also, but I have not been able to find out where. He first married Sally Frazier 9/8/1815. She could have died and he remarried. Many did. He was listed as out of State when the estate was settled in the late 1840's. Abner, son of Edward, who married Rowland Gooch's daughter, had a son named David. Frederick, who married Fanny Ford in 1813, had a son named David. William (my gggrandfather) had one son to move to Dickson Co., TN - Jesse. Jesse lived near Jonathan and Stephen. One of my William's daughers, Nancy, married William Wooten 1/16/1824.My William's last wife, Lethea Harris, had several relatives to move to TN, then KY - one of them was Samuel Benton Harris.Edward and Tabitha's farm was next farm over from Nicholas Jones.Nicholas Jones had a son to move to KentuckyI will check for his name.I remember the David Adcock and Martha Wooten marriage license. I will check the dates and the bondsmen.
