Dove Addington was the daughter of William H. Addington and Mary J. Barnes (md. 1883) of Barry Co., MO. William was the son of James Addington and Matilda Ann Bradley. Mary was the daughter of James Barnes and Sarah Jane Smith. The young Addington couple moved West (Sacramento), probably soon after the death of James Barnes in 1891.
William and Mary divorced, and she remarried to Matthew Gardner Wilson. My great-grandmother was Dora Rebecca Addington (b. 1885), Dovie's older sister. I don't know the exact timeline, but they wound up in Sacramento.
Dovie, as my grandmother always called her, died young, but had married Harry Clifford. They had a daughter, Lucille. My research has found that Lucille married an Arnold Ceresa, and lived in Sacramento.
My great-grandmother died in 1918 (childbirth). On the 1920 census, her three children can be found living with Mary (Barnes Addington) Wilson and husband in Blythe, Riverside CO., CA (pg. 16B).
