James bartow Addington ( 1855 - 1928)
Calhoun Times, (Gordon Co. GA) February 9, 1928:
"Mr. James B. Addington, for almost a half century one of the leading figures in business circles in Gordon County, died at his home in Calhoun Wednesday at the age of seventy-two. Mr. Addington was very active a few weeks ago when he was stricken with his last illness. His exemplary habits and clean living enabled him to bear his advanced age remarkably and he would ordinarily have been taken for a man around sixty years of age.
The funeral services will be held at the Calhoun Methodist Church, of which he was a member, at ten o'clock Friday morning, Rev. J.T. Eakes in charge.
Mr. Addington is survived by the following children, Mrs. Joel Culpepper and Mr. Henry Addington of Calhoun; Mrs. C.W. Hill and Mrs. Ira Everett of Atlanta; a sister, Mrs. J.H. Legg of Calhoun and a brother, Mr. Tom Addington of Ducktown, Tennessee."
