Dear Peter,
Do you know ifDr. George Addison had offspring named Charles George Addison?
In searching for a lost cousin in Australia, I came upon Australian service records that suggest that Charles George ADDISON may have changed his name to CHARLES GEORGE GRANDIN during the time that he was in the service. The name Addison was crossed out and Grandin was written over it on his service records.
Charles George Addison/Grandin was born inStawell, Victoria, Australia (c 1882). His mother's addressnear the end of his service was Elizabeth Ann Grandin,13 Mellenson Street, Richmond.
I am trying to find information on Charles George's wife who was probably my long lost cousin. She wrote to my grandmother in Pennsylvania, USA(near Scranton in Olyphant or Blakely, Lackawanna county ) in about 1921 or 1924. At that time she gave her address as C. GRANDIN and was living in East Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. By 1931 the Grandins’ had a married daughter Elsie, and two sons, Charles (a musician living in Sydney) and Herbert (connected with the railways who had two sons and a daughter in New South Wales.)
I will be curious to know if any of this ties in with your George Addison. If you have any information on Charles George's wife, I would truly appreciate it as I have about exhausted my leads on her family's whereabouts.
Thank you,
Margaret
