Cabell Co., Va.Wm & Sarah Adkins - Charles & Frances Holden * By looking at the information I put down here for you, you will see that Belinda Holden or Holten md first William Pierson and then he died and she md. second, Thomas J. Adkins. So the Belinda/Malinda (age 14, that is listed with Simon) is the one that md your Hamilton Adkins. * Now in the Cabell Co., Virginia Minute book E-3(1826-1835) FHL Book #: 975.442 P28c PG:62 In this book is a part that says the following:“Hamilton Adkins chose, as guardian, Luke Adkins who entered bond with John Burritt - security. This Hamilton may be a nephew of Luke. The only known brother of Luke who died before 1850 was David Jr., who died sometime between 1840 and 1850. Luke’s brother, Hamilton Adkins, who was born in 1806 and md. Jane (Bragg) Lovejoy. These are in the book, but no family is listed for David Jr. (The Hamilton that md. Frances E. Arthur (1869), is the child listed with Lukes in 1850 and 1860 censuses. The Hamilton S. listed in the Adkins book under Luke is not a son, but Luke is his guardian.) * Your Hamilton is not yet in the Adkins book. Iwill try and find out who his father is for you.He would be about 19 in the 1850 census. He is not listed in Cabell Co., unless he used a different name, so I will have to check other counties for him.I hope this helps you sort out the three Hamilton’s. So your Hamilton Adkins did marry a Belinda or Malinda Pierson, probably a daughter of Simon Pierson.
