"In 1692 Edward Hatcher sued JOHN ADKINS for trespassing on his property. William Hatcher had witnessed Adkins hunting and shooting there. The court empaneled and swore in a jury to hear the charges. The jury found for the plaintiff and Edward had to pay William Hatcher forty pounds of tobacco for his one day attendance at court."
(LDS site says that Edward Hatcher died 28 Sep 1711 in Henrico County, Va. He is named as the son of William Hatcher and Mary Smith. His wife is named as Mary Ward)

"....The Witnesses to the will were RICHARD PARKER, John Watson (1750), and Elizabeth Atkinson,(daughter of Richard Parker, who had married William Atkinson.) The will was written on March 16, 1715, and recorded April 4 1715."
(This is the will of Benjamin Watson. I am not sure whether this is Elizabeth Adkins, wife of William or William's grandmother Elizabeth Adkins. The dates of the will and William and Elizabeth's marriage is conflicting, their marriage being listed as January 17, 1716. Jean has a of good information. Her research is very much worth checking out. Thanks, Jean, you have helped me a lot)
Another note of interest that Jean reveals is the patent that John Watson took out on February 22, 1724 on the LONG AND HUNGARY BRANCH.
