KINGSPORT - Alice Adkins Dotson, born Aug. 15, 1915, went home to be with the Lord and her beloved husband, Fonso Dotson, on Feb. 3, 2005.
She lived many years in Dickenson County, Va., moving to Sullivan County in 1957 where she spent the remainder of her life.
She was a member of the Lyon's Fork Free Will Baptist Church in Coeburn. Her love, kindness, encouragement, instruction and example will be remembered and passed on for many generations to come.
She is survived by two daughters, Geraldine Nunley and Betty Garland and husband, Steve; a son, Bobby Dotson and wife, Elizabeth; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at East Lawn Funeral Home and at other hours at her residence.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel with Pastor Perry Cleek and Bradley Terry Davis officiating.
Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Chris Davis, Brandon Dotson, Darrell Neece, Steve Whetsel, Zach Whittaker and Daniel Fisher.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Ronnie Nunley, Donnie Nunley, Eddie Whittaker and Bobby Dotson, Jr.
